Day 14 Fall Festival
We partnered with the Baptist families in town to host a fall festival for our children early this past week. Each family was responsible for a booth or event. Our activities included: bobbing for water balloons, potato sack races, obstacle course, basketball shoot, bottle ring toss, cake walk, face painting, bean bag toss, and pumpkin role. The kids had a wonderful time, as did the adults! Here are some pictures. Enjoy!

What Happened Today:
This morning I taught Caleb and Caden in preschool. Our subject matter was “friends” which was a fun one! David met with the men on the team this morning as they continue to work through the process of forming a vision for the future of work here. David also met with Sobo from Tchefengdaa for 3 hours over lunch and they spent time in the garden talking about drip irrigation and growing morenga trees to use as a development project to bless others and find ways to teach people about Jesus. This afternoon Mark Kennell and I went out to Lassa Tchou to encourage a few of the Christians who were having a second follow-up to the marriage retreat that was held in April. We discussed Galatians 5:16 through 6:2 in relationship to marriage, doing a discovery Bible study. It was very good and made me so thankful to see God’s Spirit at work in their lives. David watched our children and did school bus this afternoon. The Kennells came over for dinner and as it is our traditional movie night, the kids watched Swiss Family Robinson while we talked. It was a nice evening and good to spend time with friends
Today’s Menu:
Breakfast: Zucchini Muffins (gluten-free)
Lunch: Leftover soups/sack lunches
Dinner: Chili, watermelon, corn bread, brownies for dessert
Scripture on my mind today: Galatians 5:16-6:2 … Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…
Great pictures! It looks like everyone had fun. The kids look healthy and are growing I can tell.
Always good to hear about your day. What is a morenga tree? Does it have fruit?
Glad to hear that lassa Tchou is doing more marriage follow-up. Is that a fairly monogamous village? I still have good memories of the ladies there- such a brief visit, but memorable for me.
